Steps to Make Whole Wheat,Oats and Jaggery Cake……

So , I prepared this cake on valentine’s day as my husband asked me to prepare something with jaggery and oats as he was on so called diet for few days … 😛 

After struggling for 2-3 hours what to prepare with jaggery or oats , I thought of preparing cake as it was valentine day and I too love home made cakes. 

So here is an easy and healthiest cake recipe for you guys… 

I don’t have baking oven and also my microwave was having issue regarding convection mode so I prepared it on gas with just a deep bowl , kadae ( frying pan ) and a lid. 

While baking it.. As it was my first time to prepare like this , I was too scared but the result was so good… that I was so happy.

You can bake it in oven as well..

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup chopped nuts ( cashews, almond ,raisins)
  • 2 tbsp whole wheat (for adding to nuts)
  • ¼ cup oil
  • ¾ cup chopped jaggery
  • 1 cup whole wheat ( for batter )
  • ¼ cup oats flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • Oil and whole wheat for greasing

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Take a bowl of chopped nuts. Add 2 tbsp whole wheat to it. Mix it well.

Step 2

Take a large bowl. Add oil and jaggery. Mix it properly so that jaggery mixes with oil properly.

Step 3

Keep strainer on top of the large bowl. Add 1 cup of whole wheat ,oats flour , baking powder , baking soda and salt.

Step 4

Using strainer , filter it in a bowl so that everything mixes properly.

Step 5

Start adding milk to it in small portions.Add chopped nuts as well.Keep beating the batter in a circular motion so that no lumps should be there.

Step 6

Once everything is mixed properly.Take a flat surface container. Grease it properly with oil first and then sprinkle whole wheat to reduce the sticky effect of cake.

Step 7

Put batter in the greased container.

Step 8

Take a deep end frying pan. Heat it in high flame for 10-15 min.

Step 9

Put the greased container in the deep end frying pan for 45 min. Cover it with lid as well. Also keep the flame low.

Step 10

After 45 min , insert knife at the corner to check whether cake is baked properly. If knife comes out clear then cake is baked. And if some of the batter sticks to it then you need to bake it for more 5-10 min. Also you can try checking this knife procedure for 2-3 times.

Step 11

Once cake is baked and cools down , cover it with another plate and takes out the cake. And then invert it.
