How to Make Pav Bhaji
Pav bhaji is a famous street food of India. Its famous for its tangy and spicy flavour . Its easy to made any time. Whenver i want to make it more healthy for my family , i used to add spinach while boiling all the vegetables. Yeah it will not give the proper pav bhaji colour to your bhaji but it will surely enhance the taste of it.
- 2 potatoes
- 1 small cauliflower
- 1 small cabbage
- 1 bowl of peas
- 1 carrot
- 5-6 tomatoes
- 2 onions
- 5-6 cloves of garlic
- 2 green chillies
- salt to taste
- red chilly powder
- turmeric powder
- pav bhaji powder
- coriander for garnishing
Step by Step Instructions
Chop the veggies ( potatoes , cauliflower , cabbage , peas , carrot , 1 tomato ).
Boil the veggies and mash them properly.
Heat 1 tablespoon of butter and oil in a large pot. Once the butter melts and oil is hot, add garlic and green chilly paste.
Add onion paste. Also add 1 tbsp salt. Saute it till it becomes golden brown.
Add tomato puree.Cook it properly for 4-5 min.
Add 2-3 tbsp of pav bhaji masala, 1.5 tsp red chili powder and remaining 1 teaspoon of salt, turmeric powder.
Put the mashed boiled veggies and mix it well.
Add 1 cup of water and mix. Cover the pot and set heat to low. Let the bhaji simmer on low heat for 15 minutes.
Add 2 tbsp of butter.Sprinkle corriander on bhaji which you have just prepared.
Take a pan ,put butter on it. Sprinkle some pav bhaji masala on top of the butter and then place the buns on the pan.
Press to toast the pav until crisp and golden brown from both sides.
Serve pav bhaji with chopped onions and lemon slice.
