How to Make Palak Pulao

Palak Pulao is very simple to prepare and don’t need any special ingredients to prepare. Its healthy as well. You can make it for kids lunch box as its healthy.

You can serve it with either raita ,fried curd or plain curd.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rinsed and drained rice
  • 2 cups properly washed fresh spinach
  • 1/2 cup of peas
  • 1 cup of chopped potato
  • 2 cups of chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tsp of ginger garlic paste
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1 cup of chopped onions
  • 1 cup of chopped carrot
  • salt – as per taste
  • red chilly powder – 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • garam masala – 1 tsp
  • coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • coriander for garnishing
  • 1/2 tsp jeera
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Add oil and once it’s hot, add bay leaf , cinnamon stick , jeera and ginger garlic paste with green chillies

 

Step 2

Once its little bit brown , add chopped onion. Saute for 2-3 minutes until they turn soft and light brown in color .

Step 3

Add potato , peas , carrot and tomato. Cook for 2 minutes till they turn soft.

Step 4

Add spinach leaves. Saute for 2-3 minutes.

Step 5

Add rice , salt , red chilly powder , turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder.Stir for a minute.

Step 6

Add water and close the lid of the pot and cook for 2 whistles on medium flame.

Step 7

After 10 mins Fluff up the rice gently.

Step 8

Palak Pulao is ready. Garnish it with coriander leaves. Serve with Raita or plain curd.
