Steps to Make Palak Paneer….
Palak Paneer is one of the famous palak recipe/palak dish.For every spinach recipe , spinach should be washed and cleaned properly so that there will be no soil stuck to it.Spinach is one of the healthy vegetable you can have.
Honestly , I never liked palak paneer ever in my life. But once I was invited at someone’s house for dinner ,they prepared palak paneer. That was the first time I liked palak paneer and wanted to have it more.
You can use tofu instead of paneer as well. Also , I always like my paneer dish to have little bit fried paneer cubes (fried till it turns to light golden brown) in it.You can also try it.
1 large bunch Spinach leaves
1 cup paneer cubes
2-3 green Chillies
1-1.5 inch Ginger
5-6 cloves of garlic
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 bay leaf
½ inch cinnamon stick
2-4 cardamom pods
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 tsp Kasuri Methi
2 tbsp fresh Cream
1/3 cup Water
3 tbsp oil
2 tbsp butter
Salt to taste
Step by Step Instructions
Take a bowl of water.Put washed spinach leaves in it. Boil it for 2-3 min or till color of spinach leaves gets changed.
Drain blanched spinach leaves and put the leaves in ice water to retain its green colour.
Once it cool downs,blend spinach leaves with ginger , garlic and green chilly in a grinder without adding any extra water.
Take a pan. Put 4-5 tbsp of oil.Put paneer cubes. Fry it till it turn little golden brown.
Once its light golden brown, take out all paneer cubes.
If necessary add 1-2 tsp oil more. Add cumin seeds,cinnamon,cloves , cardamom, kasturi methi and bay leaf.Saute it for 2-3 sec.
Add onion.Saute it well till it turns golden brown.
Add tomato and salt.Saute it well till it turns soft or can be mashed by spoon.
Add the previously prepared spinach paste to it.Mix it well.Add fried paneer cubes.Add water only if consistency is thick.
Keep cooking it for another 5-10 min in simmer flame with lid .Turn off the flame and add garam masala and cream.
