Steps to Make Instant Pot Khichdi…..
Khichdi is too famous in India.There are many types of khichdi but here we are talking about the lentils and rice khichdi. You can try making it as you like.. We would try to make it as simple as possible for anyone who is sick or else will make it spicy with all vegetables.
You know.. Once I went to Goa with my hubby and his brother’s family.Wherever we went to have food they used to order dal khichdi. I was like who likes to order dal khichdi when there are alot to have. But soon I too start liking it..
It’s one of the easiest dish one can made that too in less time and with less effort.
So here is the recipe for you…
Note : You can put carrot or beans if you like too. Also you can use any lentils you want.. either it can be moong ki dal or arhar ki dal or else moong dal chilka. Just you have to keep in mind how much water that dal requires to cook. Put accordingly.
2 tsp cumin seeds
2 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp asafoetida
1 cup chopped onion
⅓ cup chopped tomatoes
½ cup peas
2 tsp chopped green chilly
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tsp crushed garlic
Salt as required
2 tsp red chilly powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
¼ cup chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
2 tbsp oil
2 tsp ghee
1 cup moong dal or arhar ki dal
½ cup rice
4-5 cup water
Step by Step Instructions
Add oil in a pressure cooker.Put cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
Put ginger , garlic , green chilly and asafoetida.Saute it well.
Add onion , tomatoes and peas. Saute it for 2 min.
Add moong ki dal and rice. Add salt , red chilly powder and turmeric powder.
Saute it for 3 min.Add water and ghee.Cover the lid with whistle on it.
After 1 whistle , lower down the flame for 15 min.
Once the pressure is released , garnish it with coriander leaves.
Serve it with any pickle either sweet or tangy.
