How to Make Baingan ka Bharta

Baingan ka Bharta is one the famous Indian dish which is loved by everyone. It’s a roasted mashed brinjal fried with onion and tomato mainly.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of large/big brinjals
  • 4-5 medium sized onions – chopped
  • 4 medium sized tomatoes – chopped
  • 2-3 tbsp of chopped garlic
  • 2-3 green chilly chopped
  • salt as per taste
  • 1-2 tsp of red chilly powder
  • coriander to garnish
  • 1 tbsp of jeera

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Make small slits on brinjal , check if no worms are there inside it. Roast all the brinjals. The skin should be blistered completely and the baingan should become really soft.

Step 2

Once its roasted properly , take a deep end vessel ,put it in water so that it can be peeled off easily.

Step 3

Heat oil in a pan , put jeera once it is heated.

Step 4

Add garlic and green chilly. Saute it properly.

Step 5

Add onions. Saute it till it becomes golden brown.

Step 6

Add tomatoes . salt , red chilly powder. Saute it for 3-4 min.

Step 7

Add mashed baingan and mix well. Cook it for 5 min and garnish it with chopped coriander. Your Baingan ka Bharta is ready to serve now.
